John C Greenwood

John C. Greenwood, MD, MS is an emergency medicine and critical care physician-scientist at the University of Pennsylvania, with appointments in the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Anesthesiology & Critical Care Medicine. He directs the Penn Center for Resuscitation Science and the Penn Acute Research Collaboration (PARC), where he has built clinical trial infrastructure spanning cardiovascular, neurological, critical care, and trauma specialties.

Dr. Greenwood's research program focuses on circulatory shock, microcirculatory function, and post-cardiac arrest care, with particular emphasis on peripheral perfusion assessment, hemodynamic phenotyping, and resuscitation. His work integrates bedside physiology, microcirculatory imaging, point-of-care ultrasound, and individualized approaches to resuscitation and recovery.

He has led and contributed to multicenter trials through the SIREN and AHA networks, and single center studies. He brings both operational and scientific perspective to the design and execution of critical care trials.
