Manreet Kanwar, MD is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine (Illinois, USA) and Division Director of the Heart Failure and Pulmonary Hypertension Program. She is a nationally recognized leader in advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and mechanical circulatory support, and currently serves as Deputy Editor of the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation. Dr. Kanwar’s clinical expertise spans temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support, heart transplantation, and pulmonary hypertension. With more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, her research portfolio focuses on outcomes research in cardiogenic shock, optimization of patient selection and management strategies for mechanical circulatory support, and health systems approaches to improving care delivery for patients with advanced heart and lung disease. She serves on the Steering Committee of the Cardiogenic Shock Working Group and is deeply committed to mentorship and the development of the next generation of heart failure specialists.
